Explosives Ingestion Treatment.

Toxicity Signs for Ingestion of TNT (trinitrotoluene):

1. Blue Gums & Breathing Problems
2. Weakness and/or Staggering
3. Vomiting
4. Diarrhea

1. Induce Vomiting w/ 2 oz of Hydrogen Peroxide
2. Give 3 oz of Activated Charcoal orally 20 minutes after vomiting has been induced
3. Transport immediately to Vet and have them administer 1% Methylene Blue (IV: Vein) at 1mg per lb
4. Diet- High quality protein diet with vitamin supplements of A, B12, D, and E for 4-6 weeks.
5. Mineral balance with calcium and phosphorous for 3-4 weeks

1. Excitable or Nervous
2. Dramatic Changes in Behavior
3. Shallow Breathing
4. Seizures or Convulsions

1. Give 10mg of Valium (SQ, IM, or IV: Skin, Muscle, Vein)
2. Induce Vomiting with 2 oz of Hydrogen Peroxide
3. Give 3 oz of Activated Charcoal orally 20 min after vomiting has been induced
4. Transport immediately to a Vet and have them administer 1% Methylene Blue (IV: Vein) at 1mg per lb
5. Diet- High quality protein diet with vitamin supplements of A, B12, D, and E for 4-6 weeks.

     Toxicity Signs for Ingestion of Smokeless Powder 

       without NG:

1. This substance is usually non-toxic

1. Induce Vomiting with 2 oz of Hydrogen Peroxide
2. Give .04mg of Apomorphine per lb (SQ: Skin)
3. As soon as the k-9 ingest any toxic explosive or narcotics, contact your vet and let him know you are on your way with your k-9 to be treated for toxic poison.
